This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets conduct standards for use of RoofHyve. It applies to all users, customers, employees, contractors, customer portal users, sales reps/CSRs, API users, and anyone accessing the Services. This AUP supplements the Terms of Service and may be enforced by suspension, termination, content removal, access restriction, legal action, or other remedies.

2. Legal Compliance

You may use RoofHyve only for lawful business purposes and in compliance with applicable laws, including privacy, consumer-protection, employment, payroll, tax, construction, licensing, insurance, telemarketing, SMS, anti-spam, export, sanctions, and intellectual-property laws.

3. Prohibited Uses

Using the Services for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, abusive, harassing, threatening, defamatory, obscene, hateful, discriminatory, or exploitative activity.

Uploading malware, viruses, ransomware, spyware, credential harvesters, or harmful code.

Attempting unauthorized access, credential stuffing, password spraying, scanning, probing, penetration testing without written authorization, or bypassing technical controls.

Interfering with, degrading, overloading, or disrupting the Services or third-party systems.

Reverse engineering, scraping, data mining, or extracting platform data except as permitted by written agreement.

Misrepresenting identity, affiliation, authorization, roofing credentials, verification status, or authority to bind RoofHyve or another party.

Using the Services to send spam, unsolicited marketing, unlawful SMS/email campaigns, or messages without required consent.

Uploading or sharing content that infringes intellectual property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or contractual rights.

Entering unnecessary sensitive personal information or information you are not authorized to process.

Using the platform to make automated legal, employment, credit, insurance, or similarly significant decisions without required human review and lawful authorization.

4. Customer Content and Data

Customers are responsible for all data, files, images, messages, signatures, proposal content, employee information, payroll-related records, insurance information, and other content submitted under their accounts. Customers must maintain accurate records and obtain all required rights, consents, and notices.

5. Messaging, SMS, Email, and Notifications

Users must send SMS, email, push, and in-app communications only to recipients they are authorized to contact and only for lawful purposes. Customers are responsible for message content, opt-outs, consent records, required disclosures, and compliance with telemarketing, anti-spam, and messaging rules. RoofHyve may block or throttle messages for compliance, fraud, deliverability, or security reasons.

6. Security Responsibilities

Use strong credentials and protect account access.

Do not share accounts or bypass roles and permissions.

Promptly report suspected unauthorized access or security issues to security@roofhyve.com.

Do not store secrets, passwords, payment cards, or unnecessary sensitive information in free-text fields or uploads.

Configure user permissions and integrations according to least privilege.

7. AI and Automated Processing

If AI or automation features are available, users must review outputs before reliance, avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information, and not use AI outputs as legal, payroll, employment, insurance, engineering, construction, financial, or regulatory advice. Users remain responsible for final decisions and customer communications.

8. Enforcement

RoofHyve may investigate suspected violations and may remove content, restrict access, suspend accounts, terminate accounts, disable integrations, block messages, preserve evidence, notify affected customers, or report activity to law enforcement or regulators where appropriate. RoofHyve’s failure to enforce this AUP in one instance does not waive future enforcement.

8A. Account Deletion, Enforcement, and Retained Logs

A user may not use an account deletion request, access removal request, or account closure to evade investigation, enforcement, security review, payment obligations, legal obligations, or responsibility for prior activity on the Services.

RoofHyve may retain account activity, security logs, audit logs, communications, content records, enforcement records, and related information where required or reasonably necessary for legal, tax, accounting, compliance, security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, dispute resolution, contract enforcement, or business recordkeeping purposes, even if an individual user account is later deleted, anonymized, restricted, or closed.

9. Reporting Violations

Suspected abuse may be reported to abuse@roofhyve.com. Security issues should be reported to security@roofhyve.com.

10. Changes

RoofHyve may update this AUP to address security risks, legal requirements, operational needs, product changes, or emerging abuse patterns. Updated versions become effective upon posting unless otherwise stated.
